[ That's the part Wangji is good at - thinking things through. He's already laid out quite a number of thoughts and contingency plans before he even proposed, lying awake in bed in the middle of the night thinking about it. He's not one to lose sleep over much, so he knew that this was bound to be one of most important things he was ever going to do.

Now, does he wish he'd had a more grandiose plan? Maybe, a little. But it's the result that matters the most.

Amused, he nods at Wei Ying's words, driving out of the parking lot. ]

I know you are. And it's a tempting thought, too, if we had a private garage. Maybe, if we end up buying a house one day.

[ Because why wouldn't they? Wangji says the words less as a question and more as a possibility, suddenly thinking about it. ]

It'd be nicer than the apartment. [ Even with Wei Ying having brought life to it, the apartment still often feel sterile, and it's not a place they decided on together, it's a place that Wei Ying made into his home after the fact. He deserves to choose, too. ]

[ Wangji can easily imagine, twenty years from now, Wei Ying retelling the story for the umpteenth time, to anyone who would be willing to listen. To grand-children, maybe.

The thought warms Wangji's heart.

Despite everything, through it all, Wangji blinks in surprise at Wei Ying's words. He does not consider himself perfect in any way, shape, or form. ]

What did I do?

[ But then it clicks - he's never mentioned having thought of a house before, has he? It felt natural to him, but it's the first time he's talking about it to Wei Ying, and he doesn't know if it's something that Wei Ying is even considering, until he starts talking.

He's definitely considering it. Wangji's surprised looks turns into soft fondness as he drives. ]

We'd definitely need a garden. Of course, we need to consult Sizhui, but I think we could move out of the city. We could even build something, if we wanted.

[ Wangji could write a book about Wei Ying's virtues and qualities. They're not perceived, they're here and real and Wangji sees them every day, discovers new ones regularly.

Wangji, in comparison, is pretty cut-and-dry. Out of the two of them, he's the one that's lucky that Wei Ying stayed, that he wanted to be with him. Considering that Wangji has all his rules and his ways to live and he's boring and works so much. Wei Ying could have had enough of it very quickly, and Wangji is lucky he didn't.

Wangji swipes his thumb over Wei Ying's knuckles. ]

I do. Very much so.

[ If there's something Wei Ying is sure of, that's that. Wangji focuses on the road for a bit, driving them with his usual care for the laws.

He smiles, raising an eyebrow. ]

What would you want to do with the land, my love? [ Not a term of endearment he uses very often - he doesn't really uses any very often - but under the circumstances, it feels right, slipping out of his mouth without thought. ]
